Sense of Wonder with Magpie

As people around the world are becoming more and more concerned about the future of our planet, teachers and parents are asking what they can do to help foster responsibility for the environment in their children.

Inspired Child teaching artists Terry Leonino & Greg Artzner (a.k.a. Magpie) provide teachers with tools and strategies for instilling in their children a love for and sense of wonder about the natural world around us.

Through the use of music, creative drama, and movement, we will learn ways to celebrate and encourage the protection of wildlife and their habitats, as well as imparting knowledge of  plants and animals and our connection to them. The songs and experiences will also teach some basic environmental lessons pertaining to some basic actions children can take to protect our planet. The strategies for classroom experiences presented in this workshop address numerous other curriculum goals in early childhood education such as letter and number identification, vocabulary development, and motor skills development.
