This session will facilitate the use of theater practices and movement strategies that address social-emotional learning (SEL) in the classroom.
During this session, we will share ways to use music and movement to calm children and help them to focus and promote self-regulation. The SEL activities, games and brain breaks we will demonstrate can be used during story time, transitions and times when difficult behavioral situations need to be addressed. Participants will brainstorm ideas on how to incorporate music and movement throughout the day and develop a safe social-emotional space for students that helps build the atmosphere of empathy and a sense of community in the classroom.
